Asheba is a singer, songwriter and storyteller who grew up on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, where he sang calypso music and played steel drum. In 1989, he moved to the United States to develop his craft. Asheba is currently on a tour of children museums, zoos and learning centers across the US. He is promoting a new CD called "Putumayo Kids Presents Animal Playground"... a collection of childrens songs from around the world featuring The Be Good Tonyas, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and more. WorldZone met Asheba at the 2006 Planet Arlington World Music Festival and he told us about his playful music and his upbeat philosophy of life.
